Description A Japanese Gold and Black Lacquer Four-Case InroBy a member of the Kajikawa family, Edo Period, 18th Century銘「梶川作(壷印)」of rectangular form decorated in gold and slight coloured takamaki-e and hiramaki-e with a mythical beast and a doll appearing out of a box with a man seated next to the box with his eyes closed, two children playing with the beast, details inlaid with shell, all reserved on a black ground with gold sprinkles, signed Kajikawa saku with red pot seal; together with two coral colored glass ojime, an iron red and gilt decorated porcelain clam-form netsuke painted with a fish and a shrimp and a cloth tobacco purse.Height 2 3/8 in., 6 cm.
