Chr.) war als Herrscherin des Ptolemäerreiches der letzte weibliche Pharao, eng verbunden mit Rom, Caesar, Oktavian und Antonius. Nach politischer Ausweglosigkeit soll sie mittels eines Schlangenbisses Suizid begangen haben. Die antike Legende wurde in Literatur (Shakespeare) und Malerei vielfach beliebter Tragödienstoff. Und so ist auch hier die junge Frau mit perlgeschmücktem Haupt, deren Brustbildnis nach links gerichtet ist, sodass der Kopf nahezu im Profil zu sehen ist, als Kleopatra zu identifizieren, denn vergleichbare Kleopatra-Darstellungen Loths, wie auch hier im Rückgriff auf Tizian, sind uns bekannt.
