唐代時期精美金殼鏡，富麗華美，堂皇氣象，採用高浮雕的表現技法，鑄製精美，工藝精湛。鏡八瓣菱花形，伏獸形鈕，鏡背以金殼裝飾，錘揲出形式優美，舒朗自然的花卉紋，其間裝飾兩只展翅翩飛的鵲鳥紋飾，形體飽滿，氣韻靈動，極富自然情趣。地章滿飾珍珠地紋，層次鮮明，璀璨堂皇。此鏡工藝繁複，鏡體與鏡背紋飾為分體製作粘嵌而成，集青銅冶鑄、錘揲、粘接工藝之大成，繪斑斕華貴之神工。金殼鏡屬唐代所獨有的特種工藝鏡，用材奢靡，等級頗高，多為賞賜之用或皇室專用，《鏡離臺》中「鑄瀉黃金鏡始開」，所指便為此類銅鏡。整鏡保存完好，狀態佳，鏡體厚重，金片光潔，體現了盛唐時期的富裕繁榮、多民族文化的相互交融以及蓬勃的藝術創造力，實為古代銅鏡藝術頂峰期的極致之作，珍美品。
