Quickly gaining popularity from collectors for its bold use of colour, it was nicknamed after the popular puppet character "Kermit". From the subtle differences of the dial, case and bezel, collectors have identified numerous varieties for the Kermit, produced in different stages of time. The present example exhibits traits from a later production period, identified with the "Sharp 4" bezel and an inner engraved rehaut ring. Discontinued in 2011, the legacy of the "Kermit" was inherited by the Submariner "Hulk" with a green bezel and green dial, yet it still remains as a favourite every day watch among collectors.
