钤印：慈禧皇太后御笔之宝（朱）
挂屏木胎漆制，屏面用金漆为地，双面分别刻“福”“寿”字并填黑漆。其“福”字上方雕漆作“慈禧皇太后御笔之宝”钤印，并填朱漆、金彩为饰。
依清宫习俗，自康熙帝以后，每年腊月都由皇帝在斗方绢上亲自书写“福”“寿”字，颁赐后妃、近侍及臣下，以示恩宠。此件金漆地“福”“寿”挂屏，即应依腊月时慈禧所书的“福”“寿”而制成，悬之于堂前赏之颇有富丽之感，且相较于纸质者更宜于悬挂保存。
