款识：同治二年，钱塘江上述梅道人镇诗。
镇尺黄花梨制，形作规整的四方，尺寸合宜恰可作诗卷镇纸之用。镇尺一面满刻铭文，其下半部分为摹刻周“季妘鼎”铭文而作，文为“正月,王在成周,王徙于楚麓，命小臣麦先相楚居。王至于徙居庑，遣小臣夌锡贝、锡马两。夌下稽首对扬，王休用，作季妘妇宝尊彝。”上半部分为释文，并落“述梅道人”款。清晚期时，金石学发展鼎盛，士人墨客皆以收藏吉金礼器为雅事，此件铭刻金文的黄花梨镇尺，也是对当时时代风貌的体现。
