Xiajiadian Culture, Ca. 2300-1600 BC. A tall pottery vessel with a wide everted rim above an elongated body, raised upon three conical legs, resembling a goat's udder. Vessels such as this piece were used for cooking by people of the Xiajiadian culture from Inner Mongolia. This piece has been precisely dated having undergone Thermo Luminescence analysis by Ralf Kotalla, an independent German Laboratory. The samples collected date the piece to the period reflected in its style, whilst also showing no modern trace elements. Its TL certificate with full report will also accompany this lot.
