此碗式样为清代传统官窑，自雍正二年时已开始烧制，在清宫内务府造办处档案称“宫碗”，《江西烧造瓷器处》乾隆二年十月十三日记载：“司库刘山久、七品首领萨木哈，催总白世秀来说太监胡世杰、洋彩黄地洋花宫碗一件。传旨洋彩黄地洋花宫碗甚好，再烧造些，钦此”。由此可见雍正皇帝对此式碗甚为钟爱，此后至道光，历朝均有烧造，极其华美瑰丽，具有浓郁的宫廷风格，十分精彩。
