A Charles Vyse (1882-1971) stoneware 'Jun' bowl , streaked with lavender and purple glaze and raised on four ruyi feet, the base incised 'CHARLES VYSE CHESLEA', 15cm wide x 9.5cm high, 14.5cm Charles Vyse's neighbour, George Eumorfopoulos (1863-1939), was a famous collector of Chinese ceramics. This collection sparked Vyse's interest, and he started experimenting in the Song style. Nell, his wife, had studied German and French, enabling her to decipher 19th century works on early Chinese glazes thus facilitating Vyse's experiments Condition Report: some crazing to the glaze to the base interior but overall in good condition
