An attractive pair of Chinese Qianjiang style vases , cong , painted in pastel tones in blue, green, purple, black and iron-red, the necks in dark blue enamel highlighted in white, elephant and ring handles, bases with four character chenghua mark in iron-red and guangxu period, the vases approximately 23cm high, adapted as lamps (2) Provenance: Sold by orders of the executors from a Bath estate 清光绪 浅绛彩山水人物图象耳琮瓶一对 拍品来源:英国巴斯私人大宅收藏 Condition Report: both adapted to lamps and metal fitting has been fixed to vase rim so one cannot see the condition of the necks under the metal fittings and sold as seen and subject to non return some wear to gilding and some bubbling to blue glaze on neck one vase with very faint lines running horizontally on the neck under the UV line, possibly body faults or manufacture faults.
