AN ARCHAISTIC CELADON JADE ‘CHILONG’ RHYTONChina, 20th century. A well-crafted rhyton in the Han Dynasty style, showcasing superior craftsmanship quality achieved through meticulous manual carving and chiseling. Of oval section with deep U-shaped sides and finely flaring lip, one side carved in high relief with the bifurcated tail of a dragon, its feet with sharp claws forming the base of the vessel, the body densely carved with interlinked scrolls of various sizes and stylized phoenix scroll. The semi-translucent stone of a celadon tone with cloudy white inclusions and surface alterations.Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and minuscule nibbling here and there. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Acquired in the Hong Kong antiques market in the early 1990s.Weight: 349 g Dimensions: Height 14.5 cm
