AN ARCHAISTIC CELADON JADE ‘CHILONG’ WINE CUPChina, 20th century. A fine carving that captures the intricate beauty of the Han dynasty style. The deep bowl rising from a stem and flared foot, carved in high relief to one side with a pair of chilong, one looking over the rim of the vessel into the cup, the other having its ridged tail coiled around the loop handle, all against a ground of linked scrolls. The semi-translucent stone of a celadon tone with cloudy white inclusions and surface alterations.Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and minuscule nibbling here and there. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Acquired in the Hong Kong antiques market in the early 1990s.Weight: 210 g Dimensions: Height 9.5 cm
