AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ FIGURE OF A COURT LADYChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The woman set on a rectangular base, standing with a slightly arched back and her head raised, gazing towards the sky, and her hair tied in a high chignon. The figure dressed in long flowing gowns with heavily gathered sleeves, hiding her clasped hands, wearing upturned toecap shoes, and adorned with neatly incised archaistic patterns.Condition: Overall good condition with traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, small losses, and some areas of malachite and cuprite encrustations.
