AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ FIGURE OF A DEERChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The recumbent deer with its legs tucked underneath the body, the head looking straight ahead, surmounted by a pair of antlers and long funnel-shaped ears. The figure decorated with archaistic patterns and surmounted on a rectangular base.Condition: Good condition with some traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, small manufacturing flaws, and areas of malachite, azurite, and cuprite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
