AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ FIGURE OF A BOARChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The recumbent boar with its head bearing a large snout lifted, perked ears, its two sharp fangs visible, and displaying a fierce facial expression. The body adorned with finely incised archaistic motifs and with an aperture to the underside of the figure.Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, rubbing to the gilt, manufacturing flaws, and areas of malachite, and azurite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
