AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ CLAM-SHAPED BOXChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The box of clam-shaped form, finely decorated with archaistic patterns, depicting on either side an apsara in a flowing robe among floral décor and scrolls.Condition: Very good condition with minimal surface, rubbing to the gilt, and areas of malachite and cuprite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
