AN UNUSUAL CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL 'DRAGON' PLAQUEWanli six-character mark and of the periodBrightly and vibrantly decorated in multi-coloured enamels with two five-clawed dragons confronted within a field of scattered lotus sprigs, the back enamelled in red with a six-character reign mark within a rectangle and a band ofruyi heads, encircled by four lotuses, all reserved on a bluish-turquoise ground.17cm (6 3/4in) diam.Provenance: 明萬曆 掐絲琺瑯穿花雙龍紋圓屏「大明萬曆年造」楷書款The present plaque is probably a central medallion of the small and important group of cloisonné enamel dishes bearing prominent enamelled Wanli marks within a rectangle and encircled byruyi heads,pare to lot 847 in this sale: an exceptionally large and rare Imperial cloisonné enamel dish.銅胎掐絲鎏金正反兩面皆藍地，正面飾青紅二龍，一升一降，龍皆五爪，卷草尾，穿戲於纏枝番蓮紋間，背面藍地上掐絲如意卷雲紋，並四朵折枝番蓮紋拱衛正中四色如意雲頭開光，內掐絲填紅色琺瑯六字「大明萬曆年造」楷書款。此圓屏紋飾及款識皆合一類萬曆款折沿大盤之盤心，惟底部主題紋飾略有出入，可比較本場拍品847，銅胎掐絲琺琅八寶蓮雙龍大盤。
