Details A RARE LARGE YELLOW-GROUND AND RED-ENAMELLED PHOENIX’ BOWLJIAJING SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1522-1566)The bowl is decorated on the exterior with two phoenixes in flight above a row of upward lappets around the foot. The interior is applied with red enamel around the mouth as a wide band and leaving the yellow center.8 1/4 in. (21 cm.) diam.
