DescriptionAntique Indian, 17th century or earlier, Chola style figure of multi-armed Shiva; the Shiva holding axe and gazelle with outstretched hand fully decorated with beaded jewelry including anklets, bracelets, armlets, necklace and crown, the crown further decorated with incised designs and additional face of deity terminating in pointed knop, flowing robes with incised designs down either leg standing atop a tiered overlapping lotus form base further supported by larger square form multi-tiered base with sandscript inscriptions to front the central portion of lower base with incised designs and ring handles atop larger square base, very heavy, solid cast bronze; L 7" x H 22" (Approx.)
