A THANGKA OF JAMBHALA, 19TH CENTURYTibet, 19th century. Distemper on cloth. Jambhala, shown striding in alidhasana above a prostrated figure, his left holding a mongoose disgorging a jewel, a skull cup in his right, his face cast with a fierce expression with bulging eyes, the hair in curls behind a foliate tiara, surrounded by an aureole.
