A BURMESE LACQUERED BAMBOO TIFFIN CARRIER, c. 1900sBurma, late 19th century to early 20th century. The finely lacquered five-tiered tiffin with a wooden frame carrier handle, the betel boxes (kun-it) painted overall in red, black, and yellow, depicting court scenes with royalty and entertainers, the top box with a diapered band, floral décor, script, and hatched lines. The interiors coated in cinnabar red. Condition: Overall fine condition with surface wear, surface scratches, small losses, wear to the lacquer, age cracks, nicks and chips, and small flakes. Provenance: German private collection, acquired in the 1990s. Weight: 1524 g Dimensions: Height 45.8 cm
