A SMALL GILT-LACQUERED BRONZE OF BUDDHA, RATTANAKOSINThailand, Rattanakosin Kingdom, 1782-1932. Seated in dhyanasana on an elaborate stepped base decorated with geometric and lotus designs, the right hand rests gently on his lap whilst the elongated fingers of his left hand are outstretched in bhumisparsa mudra, the body richly adorned with jewelry, the face showing a meditative expression, wearing a high crown. The backside with two loops for mounting.Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, some losses to gilt, small nicks and miniscule losses here and there. Provenance: Estate of an Austrian collector, the collection was assembled in the 1980s – 1990s through purchases at Galerie Zacke and other specialized galleries in Vienna.
