笔筒段取黄花梨刳挖而成，其造型以盛开的玉兰花为原型演变而来，阔口由舒展的花瓣围成，丰硕的花形变化成了笔筒的筒身，筒身花瓣的外壁雕琢有螭龙，螭虎身躯逶迤攀援，或上或下，栩栩如生。近底处雕一圈海浪纹，间有落花，承落花流水之意。底部三矮足。笔筒采用浮雕技法雕就图案，琢磨圆润，为木刻佳作。
