作者简介：桂坫（1867-1958），字南屏。南海人。文灿之子。早年入读广雅书院和学海堂。1891年中举人。1891年中举人。1894年举进士，入翰林院，授检讨，曾任国史馆撰修官、浙江严州知府。1915年任广东通志馆总篆，先后参加篆修《南海县志》、《恩平县志》、《西宁县志》（今郁南县）、《广东通志》和《广州人物志》，并著有《晋砖宋瓦实类稿》、《科学韵语》、《说文简易释例》等。
