盖盒是一件标准的明代标准器，我们先来介绍一下凤纹。凤纹起源于古代神话中的玄鸟，最早的记录出现在商代“天命玄鸟，降而生商”，早期使用并不是很严格，宋代定窑、湖田窑等都有烧制凤纹，也出现过龙凤纹，那个时候的龙凤纹没有那么多讲究，一直到南宋高宗赵构才确定龙凤呈祥的特殊含义，并一直沿用至今。此盖盒型制规整，凤纹飘逸灵动，五彩相得益彰，极为尊贵。
