吉州窑创烧于唐代，兴盛于宋，在高温烧制过程中产生的独特窑变结晶，使得釉面与釉斑交相辉映，别具风韵，名贵的有「鹧鸪纹」、「兔毫纹」、及「玳瑁纹」等。宋代常见的斗笠式碗，黑釉中呈现出颜色交织的玳瑁纹，碗内壁等分饰三凤纹，底以一朵梅花作饰。釉质肥厚莹润，黑色深沉柔和，内壁则绚烂多彩，无雷同之貌，清新高雅。外壁为玳瑁釉。
