太白尊历来为名品，自古难求。太白尊又称太白坛，因模仿酒仙李太白的酒坛而得名，实为文房用品中的水盂，为清代康熙御窑典型器物之一。《陶雅》记述“太白尊惟康窑有之，各色俱备，惟红独多”；许之衡《饮流斋说瓷》记载：「此等尊无巨大者，通体不过数寸耳，除康窑外历朝甚罕仿制，故价值之昂等于拱璧。」陈浏的《陶雅》曾有这样的论述“康熙黑釉之大瓶上画梅花，西人目为三彩，每一只动辄万余金”。我们再证诸《饮流斋》的论说：“茄黄绿三色绘成花纹者，谓之素三彩，以墨地为最贵……西人嗜此，身价极高，一瓶之值，辄以万金，以怪兽为奇特，人物次之，若花鸟价亦不赀也。”
