瓶器形优雅，长颈垂肩，近口沿处圆鼓如蒜形，属历代官瓷造形中特为突出者，盛行于明、清二代。清代御窑所造瓷瓶多为陈设器或花器，蒜头瓶口敛，适合插饰单枝花卉，或繁果枝条，正如同瓶身所绘折枝花果。纹饰以青花点染钩描，积料处色深浓艳，仿效早明青花瓷著名之铁斑效果。乾隆帝命景德镇御窑烧造仿明瓷之器，此类蒜头瓶虽无形、饰完全吻合之明初先例，永乐官瓷已可见类同折枝纹饰，多为六组或八组，尺寸相异。
