烛台的器身分烛插、连柱、台座三层，连柱作椎形，联结柱插与台座。柱插呈深盅状，并无中式烛台的烛杆插孔，可知是承放外国的软芯蜡烛的。中国古代蜡烛均为硬芯，多以芦秆、竹竿作芯，故中式烛台多为中间仅有一插入竹竿的小孔，形制与国外烛台迥然不同。台座下凹以承烛泪，底中空，足墙外撇，露胎。
