【款识】「大明宣德五年监督工部吴邦佐造」明代，摹古风盛行，出现了一批汉代青铜器为造型的仿古铜器，但其中又不乏创新之意。此品为即一例，炉仿青铜簋式，口沿微侈，束颈，鼓腹，圈足外撇，双侧饰龙纹耳，带垂珥，錾刻细腻，线条秀美，朴拙灵动。器壁厚度较为均匀，内膛匀净。香炉规制有序，铸工精到，硕大稳健，铜质精纯，手感极佳，古韵盎然，是为晚明制炉逸品佳器。《宣德鼎彝谱》赞美此形制为“官制大雅为诸炉之冠”，为历来文人雅士所好之形。
