作者简介：丁汝昌（1836-1895），原名先达，字禹廷、雨亭。安徽庐江人，后迁巢县（今安徽巢湖）。中国晚清北洋海军统帅， 官至北洋水师提督。1895年，在威海卫之战中，指挥北洋舰队坚持抵抗日军的围攻，并严词拒绝了日本联合舰队司令长官伊东祐亨的劝降和北洋海军洋员美国人马格禄等的逼降，后见援兵无望，服毒自尽。丁汝昌在任职期间对北洋海军和北洋海防的建设有所建树。
