Roman a) 3rd-4th cent. A.D. b) and c) 1st–3rd cent. A.D. Gilt bronze, bronze, silver. a) L. 2 51/64 in; 7.1 cm, b) Dia. 1 49/64 in; 4.5 cm, c) L. 2 13/32 in; 6.1 cm
a) CROSSBOW FIBULA. Semi-circular bow with trapezoid cross-section, hexagonally hinge tube and moulded onion knobs. Pin shaft with lateral moulding and openwork decoration. Riha Group 6 Type 6.5 (1496).
b) ONE-PIECE SPIRAL FIBULA with tendon and spring hook. Riha Group 2, Type 2.9 (234).
c) OMEGA FIBULA with oval ring tapering at either end, with moulded cross-section and bent-back, cone-shaped terminals. Riha Group 8, Type 8.1.
a) Fibula bow, pin catch and pin intact; one onion knob, probably from another fibula, attached. Gilding partially abraded.
b) Pin with crack; otherwise intact.
c) Intact, with turquoise patina
