王步（1898年—1968年），字仁元，号竹溪，晚年所作青花瓷及中国画常署“陶青老人”，江西丰城县人。，从事陶瓷美术工作长达六十余年，生平创作釉下、釉上、堆雕、刻花瓷器数以万计。此件藏品所画罗汉，状貌古野，绝俗超群，王步在中国绘画史上，有着很高的声誉。画中罗汉如《宣和画谱》记载贯休的画风：“状貌古野，殊不类世间所传，丰颐蹙额，深目大鼻，或巨颡搞项，黝然若夷獠异类，见者莫不骇瞩。”
