两种颜色是一种最经典，最朴素的搭配，简约又不失态度。制作工艺上说，黑釉白覆轮盏一般是先施黑釉，之后用竹刀刮去口沿内外壁的黑釉，再施一圈白釉，入窑高温烧制而成。其中最关键的工艺是用竹刀对口沿的黑釉的刮削，技术娴熟的工匠对口沿刮釉可以一刀完成，一气呵成，绝不拖泥带水。黑釉白覆轮之黑白两色对比鲜明，是极具视觉冲击力的装饰方法，新颖别致。
