铜炉形似马槽，长方形制，敞口，直腹，平底，四底角铸兽吞式足，敦实厚重。两侧分饰双龙首耳，颌下长须内卷，下设小珥，下承四兽足，形如马槽。外壁一面镌铸“大明宣德年制”六字一行楷书款。其炉身形制规整，敦厚之中不失灵巧精致，线条干脆利落，富有简洁大气张力之美，因岁月沉淀，色泽如栗深沉，隐有吉金质感。书房陈设颇为雅致。焚香其内，数百年历史的厚重感随香外溢。
