此铜炉为平口,溜肩,扁腹,三乳足,冲耳浑圆,通体褐栗色,底款为“吴邦佐造”三字楷书阳文款。吴邦佐是当年监造鼎鼎大名的"大明宣德铸炉"的工部吏臣,是宣德时铸铜工艺名匠。也是宣德炉式、款式、色种的设计者。邦佐为宫廷的宗庙社堂,铸造了大批铜器,正是因为此人铸炉技艺十分高超,从器型设计,纹饰设计,颜色调整,到物料配比,都无一不精,堪称当时顶尖高手。
