茶叶末釉是我国古代铁结晶釉中重要的品种之一，属高温黄釉，经高温还原焰烧成。茶叶末釉始烧于唐代，当时的耀州窑曾大量烧制，唐宋时期，山西浑源窑和北方地区一些烧黑釉的窑场也有烧造。常见的产品有执壶、缸、钵瓶、罐、盏之类。而清代景德镇仿烧则十分成功，一跃成为名贵的色釉品种。景德镇清代烧成的茶叶末釉多数为琢器陈设瓷器。从传世实物看，以雍正和乾隆时期产品为多见，雍正茶叶末釉偏黄的居多，乾隆茶叶末釉则偏绿的居多。
