弘治、正德时期的黄秞达到历史最高水平，器物色调均匀一致，釉面平整无痕，色泽滋润娇嫩，且光泽度较好，恰似鸡油，是真正的黄色。因其施釉时是将釉料直接浇在白釉瓷器上或素胎上，釉层不易剥落，故名“浇黄”。由于其色调较淡，显得娇艳，又称为“娇黄”。
