光绪元宝，是清朝光绪年间流通的货币之一，是大清光绪年流通大面值货币之首，我国首批引进海外技术的，印发流通货币，对于现今也蕴藏了一定历史意义。 此枚钱币为湖北省造光绪元宝“当十文”钱币，正面以珠圈为界，分为内外两个部分，钱币正面顶部铸楷体“湖北省造”，中心直读“光绪元宝”四字，装饰以满文，左侧满文有明显岁月的痕迹，钱币中间一朵六瓣星花；底部铸货币价值“当十文”字样。文字行云流水，端秀清新，品相精致，其审美风格独特。银币背面中央镌蟠龙图，上环镌英文“湖北省造”；蟠龙眼神灵异炯炯有神，龙鳞排列细密有致，龙爪张扬，遒劲有力。此光绪元宝，制作精美，图案考究，文字清秀，楷书文字书法极为精湛，间架结构平衡舒展，在龙洋里首屈一指。钱币表面包浆磨损自然，极具观赏性与收藏价值。
