此屏所用玉料硕大，整雕。角落处有微沁。砚屏正面高浮雕“洞石花蝶”图，几簇秋菊似破石而出，枝叶繁茂，飞来麻雀压弯了枝干，与洞石上的雏鸟叽叽喳喳。匠师以精妙的高浮雕技法立体生动的表现出了一副“热闹洋溢”的花苑别景，右下美蝶引人深暮。背面暗刻“洞石花卉”，提“石慰素心”四字，落“乾隆丙午年制”款识。配红木屏座陈设，贵气典雅。木座数层、雕工繁复，主以蝠纹为饰，取其祥瑞之意，并有“蝠在眼钱”谐音“福在眼前”之意。整件器物华贵大方，是屏中精品。
