Two Qajar lacquer boxes
Persia, 19th centuryThe first a pen box decorated with figural scenes, metal inkwell within and two tools; the second box of oval form decorated in polychrome with floral sprays with perching birds, the edge of the lid with a band of inscription; and a silver-inlaid Cairoware hamsa and two carved intaglios with inscriptions. The large box 25cm (4).
