WEISWEILER (Adam Weisweiler, Meister 1778) zuzuschreiben, Paris um 1805/10. Mahagoni profiliert und geflammt. Rechteckiger Korpus mit wenig vorstehendem Blatt auf gekehlter Leiste mit Quadersockel. Front mit 1 grossen Türe. Ausserordentlich feine, matt- und glanzvergoldete Bronzebeschläge in Form von tanzender Odaliske, Rosetten und Zierfries. "Vert de Mer"-Platte. Restaurationen. 1 Beschlag fehlt. 67x35x99 cm. Provenienz: Aus französischem Besitz. Eine analoge, ebenfalls sehr "streng" gehaltene Anrichte "aux odalisques dansantes" von A. Weisweiler wurde in unserer März-Auktion 2015 (Katalognr. 1237) verkauft. Von analoger "Strenge" ist ein "Serre Bijou" von A. Weisweiler, der ehemals Teil der Sammlungen von Königin Hortense war; er ist abgebildet in: P. Lemonnier, Weisweiler, Paris 1983; S. 101. A. Weisweiler ist neben J.H. Riesener (1734-1806) der wohl bedeutendste Ebenist der Louis-XVI-Epoche. Seine Handwerkskunst erlernte er im Atelier von D. Roentgen in Neuwied, ehe er sich, wie viele seiner deutschen Kollegen, in Paris niederliess. Schon bald nach Erlangung der Meisterwürde 1778 belieferte A. Weisweiler den Hochadel der französischen Metropole und Marie-Antoinette, die eine Vielzahl von Luxusmöbeln in Auftrag gab. Leichtigkeit, vollendete Proportionen, perfekte Konstruktion und die Verwendung von Kuba-Mahagoni für die feinen Furniere gehörten zu seinen Markenzeichen. Von grosser Bedeutung war A.
