Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th centuryKakejiku (vertical hanging scroll) in yokomono (horizontal) format; ink and colours on silk in silk mounts, depicting a historical scene of Kato Kiyomasa (1562–1611) on horseback and wearing his distinctive helmet, accompanied by his troops, slaying an opponent by a castle wall during the unsuccessful campaign to conquer the Korean peninsula (1592–1598), signed Shuyo (Hideyasu) with seal Shuyo (Hideyasu); with a wooden storage box.
