款识：胡文明制 |说明：此件香盒以黄铜制成，盒身扁圆，子母口，矮圈足。盒盖之上浮雕暗八仙纹，古雅质朴。盒底有“胡文明制”四字篆书款。|款者简介：胡文明（1573～1620），明万历年间铸铜工艺名匠，江苏松江府人，根据明人《云间杂志》记载，胡文明擅长铸铜炉与文房器具，按古式制彝、鼎、尊、卣之属极精，价亦甚高，誓不传他姓。时礼帖称“胡炉”，后亦珍之。
