A late 19th century hexagonal wooden box inlaid with mother of pearl. The top is inlaid with 5 bats and auspicious symbols. Three sides have mother of pearl inlaid poetry and the other three contain descriptions of scenes of nature with inlaid flowers, birds, and insects. Dimensions are: 11 1/2 inches tall X 15 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The top and a side have chips in the mother of pearl, and the top has been repaired.
