9th-12th century AD. A mixed group of five belt mounts including one in the form of a zoomorphic mask, and one heart-shaped; all with studs to the reverse for attachment. Cf. Arbman, H. Birka I: Die Graber, Uppsala, 1940, pl.91, groups 4-5. 16.2 grams total, 15-20mm (1/2 - 3/4"). From a private ring collection; acquired before 1990. [5, No Reserve] Fine condition.
