自在观音原名“水月观音”。她一改佛教造像直立或打坐的成规，右腿曲蹲，左脚轻踏荷叶，重心落在左胯，右手微抬微翘，左手为支撑点。其姿态突现了观音流畅的线条和优美的身段。虽残手却依然能感受其，无拘无束，自由自在神韵。
