A SÈVRES STYLE 'JEWELLED' CABINET CUP AND SAUCER, late 19th Century, finely painted with a portrait of Madame de Montesson, the saucer with the Royal Coat of Arms of France, both within turquoise jewelled and gilded borders, the blue ground with elaborate jewelled, enamelled and gilded pendant borders, with gilt dentil rims, the cup 6.7cm high, pseudo Sevres interlaced LL monograms in blue, the cup titled 'Me de Montesson' in blue script (minor losses to jewelling overall, minor wear to the gilt dentil rim of saucer) (2)Literature: Madame de Montesson, born Charlotte-Jeanne Béraud de La Haye de Riou (1738-1806), was a mistress to Louis Philippe d'Orléans, Duke of Orléans, and eventually his wife in 1773.
