A cusped round-section silver hoop supporting an ovoid bezel with intaglio image of a reclining female-headed sphinx, amphora in front, arrow below; the badge of the island of Chios in the Aegean, as appears on the coinage of that island, inscribed with 'AYT I T' to the upper field. 5.75 grams, 22.19mm overall, 17.65mm internal diameter (approximate size British P 1/2, USA 7 3/4, Europe 16.86, Japan 16) (3/4"). Property of a private collector; acquired before 1975. Very fine condition.
