A bronze figure of a female wearing a belted peplos dress and mantle, calf-length footwear, with hair gathered in a topknot; one leg raised in advancing pose; reins wrapped around the hands and coiled about the forearms. See Rolland, H. Bronzes Antiques de Haute Provence, Paris, 1965, item 169 for type. 46.5 grams, 64mm (2 1/2"). From a private collection; formed 1965-1975. Very fine condition.
